The Kia Sonet made its debut in the country in 2020. And now, according to several industry reports, the 2024 iteration of the Sonet is set to be revealed in December this year, while its prices are expected to be announced early next year. The Sonet is the third Kia model after the Carnival MPV and the Seltos SUV and is one of the firm's best-selling offerings in India. The 2024 model is expected to have a modest cosmetic update and was recently sighted without any camouflage. The revamped Sonet will also receive technical upgrades and some new features. The image you see above is that of the China-spec model and has been used for representation. The India-bound version is expected to vary from it in terms of design. Here's what we know so far about the upcoming model.

Kia Sonet Facelift: Expected Powertrain Options
The new Sonet will retain its current powertrain options, which consist of a 1.5-litre diesel unit (114bhp and 250Nm), a 1.0-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol unit (118bhp and 172Nm), and a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit (82bhp and 115Nm). The naturally aspirated petrol engine will be mated to a manual transmission as standard. The 6-speed iMT gearbox and automated gearbox options will be available for the 1.5-litre diesel and 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engines. Since Hyundai no longer offers the iMT as an option for its vehicles in the country, it’s possible that Kia may include a standard 6-speed manual transmission in the line-up.
Kia Sonet Facelift: Design
When it comes to design changes, the new Sopnet is expected to feature exterior modifications like revamped daytime running lights and fog lamps, a new headlamp arrangement, and an updated grille. It will also likely have a fresh tailgate design, new plastic body panels, connected LED rear lamps, and a new set of alloy wheels.
Kia Sonet Facelift: Features
Inside, the new Sonet will get new switchgear and a revised dashboard layout. It might also receive displays that feature in the redesigned Seltos. The instrument cluster on some variants will resemble those in the Venue and the Carens. There will also be fresh upholstery colours available across the entire lineup. For safety, the model is expected to have six airbags as standard on all models. Additionally, the Sonet might also feature ADAS, perhaps in its top-of-the-line models, like the Hyundai Venue, which is the only SUV in its class to be equipped with this safety tech.
