Kia Sonet Facelift Exterior Design Fully Leaked Ahead of India Launch

The new-generation Kia Sonet will probably go on sale in India early next year. However, before the much-anticipated introduction in our market, the exterior of the upgraded Sonet has been leaked in China, and images of the same are floating on the internet. The spotted China-based version of the Sonet has undergone a few noteworthy exterior changes, such as a reworked headlamp configuration with incorporated DRLs, a slightly altered air dam, as well as, a skid plate, in addition to new dual-tone alloy wheels. There are currently no interior spy images. The new Sonet, however, is anticipated to include a fully digital instrument cluster, touch-based AC controls, and other amenities. The fully exposed exterior of the spied sub-compact SUV shows multiple changes, such as an updated front bumper, a headlight cluster with revised LED DRL units, a redesigned air dam and a skid plate, and a fresh set of dual-tone alloy wheels. It also appears to include LED taillights, as well as an LED light bar on the tailgate, a revised integrated rear spoiler, and other features. Dual-tone roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, and an electric sunroof are likely among other features included. Although there are no current spy photos of the interior, the spotted version is anticipated to sport several changes inside, including redesigned switchgear for the HVAC controls, a brand-new digital instrument cluster, and fresh brown-coloured upholstery. 

Kia Sonet Facelift: Mechanical Specifics

There is no official confirmation, but the India-based Sonet's engine options will most likely be the same as the current-generation version, which comprises a 1.2-litre NA petrol, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel. The NA petrol model delivers 82bhp and 115Nm, while the turbo-petrol model generates 118bhp and 117Nm. The diesel mill, on the other hand, produces 114bhp and 250Nm.

Kia Sonet Facelift: India Launch and Competition

In our market, the updated Kia Sonet is expected to launch in early 2024. In terms of market competition, the sub-compact SUV will go head-to-head with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, the Nissan Magnite, the Hyundai Venue, the Tata Nexon, the Mahindra XUV300, and other models.
