The new update retains the mechanicals as well as other features in the Seltos.
Kia has updated the Seltos in India and has made 6 airbags standard across all variants in India. Prices for the base models have been hiked by Rs 30,000. Post the update, the Seltos has become the only car in the segment to come with six airbags as standard.
Ahead of this, Kia offered six airbags only on the higher r-spec HTX+, GTX(O), GTX+ and X-Line trims of the Seltos, which is now been made available on the HTE, HTK, HTK+ and HTX trims too. At its launch, the Seltos arrived with only available with two airbags on its base trims. However, in April this year, that was updated to four airbags as standard with the MY2022 update. The recent update is in light of the government’s mandatory six-airbag rule that will come into effect from October 1 this year.
During the Global NCAP testing in 2020, the Seltos achieved just a 3-star safety rating when the base HTE trim was tested. With six airbags, the Seltos could potentially improve its score.
As far as changes go, the new Seltos get the same equipment list. The car comes with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Brake Assist (BA), Hill Assist Control (HAC), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and All-Wheel Disc brakes as standard.
