About six months back, Kia India updated the Seltos with revised styling, a turbo-petrol engine, and a few other tweaks for 2023. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit, linked to a six-speed iMT or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, was then introduced on all trim levels (Tech Line, GT Line, and X-Line).
The Tech Line is further split into HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, and HTX+ variants, all of which are now, in a recent update, additionally available with a new diesel-manual option. However, this powertrain setup is not present in the GT Line and X-Line trims. The price of the Seltos Diesel MT ranges from Rs 12 lakh to Rs 18.28 lakh (ex-showroom). With this new update, the 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine now comes mated to a 6-speed manual, a six-speed iMT, or a six-speed automatic transmission. As a result, the Seltos comes in a total of 24 variants. Power and torque figures are rated at 114bhp and 250Nm, respectively. The other engine option on offer is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine, hooked up to a six-speed manual or a CVT. This engine is capable of churning out 113bhp and 144Nm of peak torque.
Kia Seltos Diesel MT: Features
In terms of features, the SUV offers two touchscreens, both measuring 10.25 inches in size. It additionally gets a dual-pane, panoramic sunroof, a Bose Premium sound system, an 8.0-inch heads-up display, Apple Carplay/Android Auto connectivity, ventillated front seats, diamond cut alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, new-age Kia Connect, and an electric parking brake.
The Kia Seltos prioritises the safety of its passengers with 360-degree cameras, six airbags, and Level 2 ADAS features, including lane-keeping assist, auto emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and so on.
Kia Seltos: Exterior
With a mid-life facelift in July 2023, the Seltos embraces a more forward-looking approach with new DRL signatures and dynamic turn indicators; however, it still looks muscular and strong. Other bits include a sculpted bonnet, a tiger-nose grille, LED headlamps, a four-block design for the fog lamps, wrap-around LED taillamps, and dual exhaust tips.
Since its first launch in 2019, Kia has sold 6 lakh units in domestic and international markets. The SUV contribute more than 51 per cent to Kia India's total domestic dispatches. In the Indian market, it locks horns with the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Honda Elevate and the Citroen C3 Aircross.
