The Seltos Project X could be based on the X-Line Concept that was shown at the 2020 Auto Expo.
The 'dark' treatment of the Seltos isn't exactly a new idea. We saw it before on the Seltos Anniversary Edition, which was launched in October last year. However, to ensure its bestseller remains relevant, Kia has now released official teasers of the Project X, which hint at the arrival of a more thoroughly blacked-out version of the Seltos. And it's most likely based on the impressive X-Line Concept (lead image) that we saw at the 2020 Auto Expo. Some reports also suggest that it could arrive as early as next month.
The Seltos X-Line Concept was finished in stealthy matte grey and featured matte black alloy wheels (same design as the Seltos GT Line). In contrast, the plastic body cladding featured a gloss black finish, and the bumpers seemed to don a slightly reworked and chunkier cladding design. Plus, hefty use of dark chrome and bronze-coloured elements further added to the X-Line Concept's stealth appeal. Expect most of these design elements to be carried over to the production-spec Project X version, although it'll be interesting to see if Kia offers it in multiple exterior colour options.
Unfortunately, the Seltos Project X is unlikely to have any mechanical changes or tweaks. We expect a formal launch date announcement from Kia soon.
