The Kia Seltos is no longer available at 'introductory' prices. The petrol variants have received a price hike ranging between Rs 20,000 and Rs 30,000, whereas diesel variants are now dearer by Rs 35,000.
If you’re planning to buy a Kia Seltos, here’s some not-so-good news for you guys. The Kia Seltos has become dearer by Rs 20,000 – Rs 35,000! The company has increased the prices of its SUV from January 1, 2020, meaning it’s no longer available at ‘introductory’ launch prices. Consequently, the Kia Seltos range now starts at Rs 9.89 lakh (vs Rs 9.69 lakh earlier) and goes all the way up to Rs 17.34 lakh (up from Rs 16.99 lakh).
The base HTE 1.5 petrol variants of the Seltos have become expensive by Rs 20,000, while the variants above HTE have become dearer by Rs 30,000. This means the 1.5-petrol version is now priced between Rs 9.89 lakh and Rs 14.09 lakh. The top-spec petrol version with the 1.4 turbo motor has received a price hike of Rs 30,000 across all of its trims, which are now priced at Rs 13.79 lakh – Rs 17.29 lakh. The diesel Seltos has become even more expensive, with its prices going up by Rs 35,000 across the range. This means the diesel versions are now priced between Rs 10.34 lakh and Rs 17.34 lakh.
While this price hike will come as a deterrent to prospective buyers, don’t expect the demand for the Seltos to go down anytime soon. You see, the Seltos has turned out to be a runaway success for the brand – since its launch in August 2019, the manufacturer has dispatched over 40,000 units of the SUV. Not to mention, this also means that until November 2019 (December sales figures for the Seltos aren’t out yet), the Seltos was the best-selling SUV in the country.
