Kia India launched the 2023 Seltos facelift about 2 months ago in India, bookings of which commenced on July 14. Like the pre-facelift model, the 2023 Seltos SUV is available in 3 core trims – Tech Line, GT Line, and X-Line. The Tech Line is spread across 5 variants – HTE, HTK, HTK Plus, HTX, and HTX Plus, while the GT Line and the X-Line, which when launched comprised one variant each, now add the new GTX+ (S) and the X-Line (S) variants to their respective line-ups. The GTX+ (S) and the X-Line (S) serve as the gateway into the GT-Line and the X-Line range of SUVs. The price of the newly added GTX+ (S) is Rs 19.40 lakh (ex-showroom), while the X-Line (S) is offered at Rs 19.60 lakh, ex-showroom. At these prices, the new entry-level variants for the GT Line and the X-Line trims of the Seltos come equipped with 17 ADAS Level 2 features as well as dual power options.
The 2023 iteration of the Seltos SUV is priced between Rs 10.89 lakh and Rs 20 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. In terms of market rivalry, it locks horns with the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, and the forthcoming Honda Elevate and the Citroen C3 Aircross.

Kia Seltos GTX+ (S), X-Line (S): Reason Behind Their Introduction
In the Seltos lineup, the new Seltos GTX+ (S) and the X-Line (S) are positioned between the HTX+ and the X-Line variants. They have been added to reduce the waiting period and improve the value proposition of the Seltos, according to the automaker. As of now, Kia India has garnered more than 50,000 bookings for the Seltos SUV. With this, the average waiting period for the SUV has been increased to about 16 weeks (4 months) but will be reduced to around 7 to 9 weeks (2 months). The constant supply chain constraints of parts (a 360-degree camera and a Bose Premium sound system) is one of the main reasons behind the long waiting period, according to some industry sources.
Kia Seltos GTX+ (S), X-Line (S): Features
Feature-wise, the new GTX+ (S) and the X-Line (S) are packed with Level 2 ADAS features, an electric parking brake with auto hold, a reverse camera, a 6-speaker sound system, 18-inch glossy black alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ventillated front seats, and two 10.25-inch screens. On offer is also an optional all-black roof lining, with an additional cost of Rs 20,000. However, they lose out on a 360-degree camera and a Bose sound system.
Kia Seltos GTX+ (S), X-Line (S): Powertrain Options
Underneath the bonnet, the Seltos GTX+ (S) and the X-Line (S) receive both 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. The turbo-petrol unit, which is already available with the Kia Carens, cranks out 158bhp and 253Nm of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed DCT. The new Smartstream 1.5-litre TGDi petrol powertrain of the Seltos yields an ARAI-certified 17.7km/l with iMT and 17.9km/l with DCT automatic gears. In the diesel mode, the SUV generates 114.4bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. This unit is paired with a 6-speed torque converter.
