The Kia Seltos is only becoming a bigger & bigger cause of concern for its competitors with each passing day...
It seems that Kia's heavy-duty pre-launch marketing and robust product strategy have paid off in an unexpectedly good manner. After opening its order books for the soon-to-launch Seltos SUV on 16th July, Kia Motors India (KMI) claims that it has already received a total of 6,046 bookings for the car, from its country-wide dealerships & online platform. Out of these, 1,628 bookings have been made online. The bookings can be made against a sum of ₹ 25,000.
Sharing his thoughts on the overwhelming response, Mr Manohar Bhat, VP and Head (Sales & Marketing) at KMI said, 'Getting such an overwhelming response from customers across the 160 cities where we are present, makes us elated. It is a remarkable feat and is a testament to Kia’s unparalleled & extraordinary brand recognition and acceptability in India that our brand campaign has helped us achieve. Our mid-SUV, the Seltos is BSVI compliant from day 1 and is available in both petrol and diesel, with both Manual and Automatic options in all powertrains, it makes it an attractive proposition.'
With its launch just a few days away, the Seltos will go on sale in two trim options: Tech Line & GT Line. For India, Kia will bring its 1.4 Turbo GDI petrol unit, which will be mated to a 7-Speed DCT gearbox (GT Line). The other engine options include 1.5-litre petrol & diesel motors, which will be offered with either an IVT (Intelligent continuously Variable) automatic gearbox, a standard 6-speed torque converter or a 6-speed manual.
Expect the Kia Seltos to be launched in India in the ₹ 11-17 lakh price range.
