Kia India had its highest-ever cumulative sales of 3,36,619 units in CY2022, representing a 47.7% increase over CY2021. In CY2022, the manufacturer's domestic dispatches were 2,54,556 units, up 40.1% year on year, while export dispatches were 82,063 units. With this, the South Korean carmaker has surpassed 8 lakh overall sales in India since its debut in August 2019. Kia India sold 15,184 units in the domestic market in December 2022, representing a 94.7% year-on-year increase. CY2022 is also a defining moment for Kia India, as the company became the country's top UV (Utility Vehicle) exporter, with 82,063 units exported. The Seltos achieved a milestone in the domestic market by selling one lakh units in a single year. In CY2022, the Seltos recorded sales of 1,01,569 units, while the Sonet reported sales of 86,251 units.

The Carens sold 62,756 units this year, making it India's second most popular family vehicle. The Carnival and the EV6 both saw increases of 3,550 units and 430 units, respectively. The year 2022 had several key achievements for the firm, including the launch of its flagship EV model, the EV6, in India, which marked the onset of the automaker's EV journey in India. Moreover, Kia has completed three years of operations in the country. During the last year, Kia also topped FADA's Dealer Satisfaction Study, claiming the title for the third year in a row.
Further, the company invested in the country's fast-charging EV infrastructure by establishing India's first and fastest '240kWh' charger. Kia India also launched its certified pre-owned (CPO) business, which would have 30 or more locations by the end of 2022 to address the growing need for personal mobility in the nation.

Commenting on this new milestone, Hardeep Singh Brar, VP and Head- Sales & Marketing, Kia India stated, "CY 2022 has turned out to be the best-ever year for Kia India in more ways than one, fuelled by the unconditional and unflinching love and support from the Indian buyers. Despite various headwinds like geopolitical issues, COVID-induced supply chain obstructions and price increase, we managed to register the highest sales ever for the brand in the country. It is a matter of great pride that Kia products are not only disrupting their respective segments in India but also creating waves and ever-growing demand in the international markets."
