Kia EV6 Recalled in India Again for Software Update
The most recent recall of the Kia EV6 addresses the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) and involves a software update to enhance the charging of the 12V auxiliary battery.

Kia has recalled EV6 SUVs in India due to an ICCU-related issue for the second time. The most recent recall affects 1,380 models produced between March 3, 2022, and April 14, 2023. As with the previous recall, this one addresses the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) and involves a software update to enhance the charging of the 12V auxiliary battery. Kia’s continued focus on this matter highlights their dedication to maintaining vehicle reliability and prioritising customer satisfaction.
Regarding the recall, the company has announced that it will contact owners of EV6 models manufactured between March 3, 2023, and April 14, 2023, to arrange for the necessary software update. Owners are advised to schedule an appointment with an authorized Kia dealer or reach out to the customer care centre at 1800-108-5005 for further support.

The Kia EV6 is powered by a 77.4kWh battery pack, offering two drivetrain configurations: rear-wheel drive with a single motor and all-wheel drive with dual motors. The rear-wheel drive variant generates 226bhp and 350Nm, while the all-wheel drive variant boosts performance with 321bhp and 605Nm. The impressive ARAI-certified range stands at 708 kilometres.
The Kia EV6 has several features, including a single-pane sunroof, ventilated, power-adjustable front seats, and a curved dual 12.3-inch digital display. It is also equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control, a 14-speaker Meridian sound system, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.
Kia EV6 Facelift India Launch Soon?
Kia unveiled the facelifted EV6 at the 2025 Auto Expo, with a range of improvements both inside and out. A key upgrade is the larger 84kWh battery, boosting the range to a claimed 650 kilometres and enabling faster charging (10-80% in 18 minutes). The updated EV6, bookings for which began on January 17, also features a new two-spoke steering wheel, enhanced HUD, a digital rear-view mirror, and a fingerprint start.

Although the exact launch date for the facelift is yet to be confirmed, the updated SUV is expected to hit the market soon, with a notable price increase compared to the current model, which is priced at Rs 60.96 lakh (ex-showroom).
