Customers of the Jeep Compass can upgrade from Limited 4x2 version to Limited 4x4 version for just Rs. 50,000!
The fact that the Jeep Compass has been a runaway success for the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) in India isn’t a news. What indeed is a news, however, is that the firm has come up with a unique offer for its customers in India. As part of Jeep’s 4x4 Month celebrations in India, customers can now upgrade to the Limited 4x4 version for just Rs. 50,000 extra.
Before you get your chequebooks ready, there’s a bit of a catch here. The offer is only valid on Limited 4x2 variants priced at Rs. 19.21 lakh. That said, customers who have booked the lower-trims, namely Sport and Longitude, can also avail the offer, but they will have to pay the price difference between the two trims first. For example, if you’ve booked the Sport 4x2 diesel version (Rs. 16.28 lakh) and want to upgrade to the 4x4 version, you will have to upgrade your booking to the Limited 4x2 first by paying an extra sum of Rs. 2.93 lakh, and only then you’ll get the Limited 4x4 version (Rs. 21.18 lakh) for another Rs. 50,000. It sure is a bit complicated, but with a bit of effort you can save around Rs. 1.47 lakh.
Powertrain options on the Jeep Compass in India include a 2.0-litre diesel and 1.4-litre turbo petrol. The former is rated at 171bhp and 350Nm, while the latter produces 161bhp and 250Nm. Both the engines come paired with a six-speed manual transmission as standard, albeit the petrol can also be had with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The 4x4 badged all-wheel drive model is only available with the diesel version though.
The Jeep 4x4 Month offer starts from today – fourth day of the fourth month, i.e. 4th April, and will run until April 30, 2018. Additionally, the manufacturer will organise a Camp Jeep off-road drive experience for potential customers and enthusiasts in Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad in the same month.
