Jeep has re-introduced a special edition version of the Meridian SUV in India. Called the X, the vehicle brings a host of styling and feature upgrades aiming to deliver a premium driving experience. For those unaware, Jeep introduced the Meridian X Special Edition for the first time in April 2023 alongside the Upland Edition. The re-launch of the special edition comes amidst its growing demand among SUV buyers, and it is built for both rugged trails and urban streets alike.
Carrying a starting price tag of Rs 29.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Jeep Meridian X gets a Silvery Moon exterior shade with body-coloured lowers and a grey-coloured roof. The alloy wheels featuring grey-coated pockets are finished in black. The interior of the special edition is updated with side moulding, puddle lamps, programmable ambient lighting, premium carpet mats, sunshades, an air purifier, and a dash cam. Along with these, Jeep also offers a rear-seat entertainment package as an optional extra.

'With an array of accessories, we have amped the Meridian's dual characteristics, catering to the adventurous spirit and refined tastes of our diverse clientele. Whether navigating challenging trails or cruising cityscapes, this edition promises to captivate enthusiasts seeking sophistication, performance, and unmatched capability. This launch not only elevates the design ethos for Jeep aficionados but also extends a broader spectrum of expression, empowering drivers to truly embody their unique identities on the road,' said Kumar Priyesh, Brand Director, Jeep India.
Jeep Meridian X Special Edition: Powertrain
Under the hood, the Jeep Meridian X Special Edition gets the same 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine which churns out 168bhp and 350Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic. However, it remains to be seen whether the X will come with both gearboxes. Jeep says the powertrain offers the fastest acceleration and highest power-to-weight ratio. The vehicle can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.8 seconds before hitting a top speed of 198km/h.
The Jeep Meridian X Special Edition slots above the Limited (O) variant of the three-row Meridian SUV. The bookings for the special edition X are underway at Jeep dealerships across the country and through the company's official website.
