Jeep has unveiled a new Overland Edition of the Meridian SUV in addition to introducing the redesigned Compass in India. A few cosmetic and interior changes have been made to the Meridian Overland version, which is expected to be priced higher than the base model. The new variant is expected to keep the same powertrain, which is a 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engine with a maximum output of 168bhp and 350Nm. Alongside the Jeep Meridian Overland Edition, the automaker has launched the new Compass 2WD Diesel Automatic version with a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 23.99 lakh in India. It features a redesigned Glossy-Black grille, Glossy-Black 18-inch alloy wheels, and LED fog lamps. Jeep Meridian Overland Edition: Exterior and Interior
Although the SUV's basic shape is the same as that of other variants, numerous outward and interior changes have been made to give the new variant a touch of individuality. The grille on the special edition features the seven-box design with chrome surrounds and the new alloy wheels have a star-like design. Additionally, the front bumper has sleek chrome bars that span the width of the SUV and fog lamp housing that has been painted black.
Inside, the new Meridian Overland has a new theme. It boasts a rich brown paint job, and the dashboard and center console are further highlighted by copper accents. A suede finish is included on the seats and the top portion of the dashboard. 'Overland' insignia can also be seen on the front seats. A 10.1-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument panel, dual-zone climate control, four-wheel drive with a locking differential and low range, and other top Meridian amenities appear to be included in the SUV.

Mechanically, the Meridian Overland is probably going to stay the same. Therefore, it will continue to use the same 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engine, which has a maximum power output of 168bhp and 350Nm.

With a host of cosmetic improvements, the new Jeep Meridian Overland Edition is anticipated to command a considerable premium over the base model. There is no official confirmation, however, we expect the carmaker to disclose the pricing of the model shortly in our market.
