Jaguar has unveiled the Type 00 EV Concept, providing a first look at the brand's design direction for its upcoming electric vehicles. The concept highlights a modern, aerodynamic design focused on performance and sustainability. It marks a key step in Jaguar's shift to an all-electric lineup, combining advanced technology with the brand's distinctive style. The Type 00 serves as a preview of the design and features expected in future Jaguar EVs, signaling the company's commitment to innovation and its move toward the growing electric vehicle market. This reveal underscores Jaguar's plans to lead in the electric vehicle segment while maintaining its luxury image.

The Type 00 concept is built on the JEA platform, designed exclusively for electric vehicles, and will serve as the foundation for all future EVs. Jaguar has disclosed that the concept hints at a four-door electric GT, set for its global debut in late 2025.

Jaguar Type 00 EV Concept: Styling

The Type 00 design concept adheres to Jaguar’s ‘Exuberant Modernism’ philosophy and embodies the principle of ‘Copy Nothing.’ The styling is bold with traditional grand-tourer proportions including a long bonnet and a rearward cabin, topped with a coupe-style roofline that gives the car a sleek, low stance. The front adorns a strong, angular fascia with an enclosed grille, and slim lighting units positioned low on the bonnet and housed in the front bumper. The boxy style is evident in the grille, which showcases Jaguar’s new ‘Device Mark,’ and the air vents positioned lower on the bumper.

Jaguar Type00 Rear Quarter

On the sides, distinct body lines run along the vehicle’s length, accompanied by flared fenders at the front and rear. Other fine details include a brass trim strip on the front fender that conceals the side-view camera and displays Jaguar’s new leaper logo. The wheels have a new double J roundel, replacing the ‘Growler’ logo. The roof has a glazed body-coloured panel that lets light filter into the cabin. Moving to the rear end, the concept does away with a traditional rear windshield, opting for a pantograph panel that can be raised to reveal the storage space behind the seats. The rear bumper features a noticeable diffuser, and the majority of the rear section is occupied by a unique grille-like panel that integrates the taillights.

Jaguar Type 00 EV Concept: Interior Layout

The interior of the Type 00 features a minimalist layout, with a raised centre console that separates the driver and passenger areas. It includes two foldable displays, one for the driver and one for the co-driver. The seats are supported by plinths made of travertine stone, creating a floating effect.

Jaguar offers customisation options through three 'totems' – Brass, Travertine, and Alabaster – stored in a compartment hidden behind a powered flap on the fender. Placing a totem in the centre console allows users to adjust the cabin's mood, influencing elements like screen displays, lighting, and other settings for a personalised experience.
