Jaguar has taken covers off the 2016 XJ, with the luxury saloon set to hit the UK showrooms in Autumn.
The front of the XJ is predominated by a larger, more upright grille, while the LED rear lights feature a new J-signature tail and position light graphic. On the inside, an eighth inch InControl Touch Pro infotainment system has been added, that is packed with tons of optimisation and utility features.
Under the hood, customers can choose between a supercharged 3.0L V6 engine and the more powerful 5.0L V8 unit. The former generates 340 PS of power and 450Nm of torque while the V8 produces 510 PS or 550 PS, depending upon the variant. All variants come with an optimised eight-speed transmission system from ZF.
Jaguar has also added the top-of-the-line Autobiography model to the XJ range, and is available only in long-wheelbase body. Chrome front bumpers and 20’’ inch Maroa wheels separate Autobiography from other XJ models.
The XJ is slated to launch in Autumn in the UK and is priced between £58,690 and £100,000 (Rs 58.77 lakh - Rs 1 crore). Since Jaguar is owned by Indian conglomerate Tata, expect the sedan to hit our shores soon.
