Jaguar Land Rover has collaborated with Bosch to launch a new smartphone integration platform in India, christened as ‘InControl.’ Both Android and iOS devices are supported by the platform.
InControl transfers the interface from the phone to the in-car infotainment system, making it easier to access information and improving the user experience as a whole.
JLR and Bosch have worked closely with third-party developers to enable access to a suite of applications. The list includes NDTV, Zomato, Hungama, MapMyIndia, among others.
Certain modifications have been made to these apps to meet the peculiar needs of in-car use. For instance, the NDTV app reads out news for the users.
Explaining the app, Rohit Suri, President, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd, said: “InControl Apps will enhance the overall luxury experience of our vehicles and provide technology savvy customers a more convenient option to access their favourite apps. This is an exciting new technology addition to Jaguar Land Rover vehicles, which have already become popular for their design, performance, craftsmanship and luxury credentials.”
The InControl platformy is currently supported on Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Discovery Sport.
