Jaguar released a teaser shot of the Crossover concept that will be unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show next week. Jaguar calls it the C-X17, and is saying little about the concept.
However it does say that the design study has been created to ‘introduce Jaguar’s new, high-advanced, modular aluminum architecture’. Jaguar, by unveiling the C-X17 intends to underline Jaguar’s plans to eventually switch to using aluminium construction for all its models.
It might be said or more or less concluded that the upcoming baby Jag saloon will used this platform since Jaguar says that, “the diversity of vehicles that could be produced using this architecture, which underpins the innovative future of the Jaguar brand."
Audi and BMW are already on their way to launch new platforms which call for an all-aluminium construction. It looks like Jaguar too is heading in that direction. Will be interesting to see who crosses the line first.
