Isuzu’s MU-X has always impressed us as a refined, comfortable and capable premium SUV. However, it has somewhat always been in the shadows of the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour owing to their more plush cabins. To attend to this issue Isuzu has launched the face-lifted version of the MU-X in India now featuring more equipment and a few cosmetic enhancements. The refreshed MU-X is launched in two variants, with prices ranging between Rs. 26.26 lakh to Rs. 28.23 lakh (ex-showroom, Hyderabad).
The highlight of the Isuzu MU-X face-lift has to be its new projector headlamps featuring daytime running lights that definitively make it more identifiable from the first glance. The front bumper is a new unit as well featuring new surrounds for the fog lamps. At the back, changes are much the same with a new bumper, tail lamps and a rear spoiler. The SUV gets new 18-inch alloy wheels as well. Apart from this, updates on the new model include 6 airbags, hill hold and descent assist, et al.
Firepower for the updated MU-X continues to come from the earlier car’s 3.0 litre, four-cylinder, turbo diesel engine that is good for175bhp of max power and 380Nm of peak torque. Mated to a five-speed automatic gearbox as standard, the new MU-X is available in both 4X2 and 4X4 versions.
With the new model, Isuzu is also offering free service and warranty for the first 5 years of ownership/150,000km (whichever comes earlier). The Isuzu MU-X competes with the likes of the Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner.
