Isuzu India will also try to strengthen its presence in the Indian market by launching new products and having more and more dealerships across the country.

Finally Isuzu has woken up to Indian potential. The latest player to enter the Indian market launched its first dealership in India yesterday and also shed some light on its plans for its future in India.

Isuzu plans to expand its production capacity in India to 1.2 lakh units by end of 2015-16 for which the company will spend close to 3,000 crores. Not only that, it also plans to have 60 dealerships across India in the same time. Isuzu has a production facility in Sri City in Andhra Pradesh will also generate 2,000-3,000 jobs while increasing the production. The manufacturer also plans to have absolute localisation within three years of beginning the production in 2016.

Commenting on the company’s plans on the occasion of launching its first showroom in Jaipur, Shigeru Wakabayashi, Deputy Managing Director, Isuzu Motors India said, “This dealership marks our entry into the largest state of the country (Rajasthan) which houses many industries including minerals, agriculture and textiles. And our vehicles known for ruggedness, durability and fuel efficiency will definitely appeal to our customers.”
