The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Z-Prestige comes with a new 1.9-litre diesel motor and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Priced at Rs 19.99 lakh bookings for the Z-Prestige Limited Edition are now open
Since the time it was first launched, the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross has only been on sale with a manual transmission option. The Japanese carmaker has changed that with the launch of a new Z-Prestige variant that now comes with a 6-speed auto box. In fact, it also comes with an all-new 1.9-litre motor. This new trim sits at the top of the variant range and is priced at Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) – roughly Rs 3 lakh more than the High (Z) variant. Surprisingly, Isuzu will only sell this as a limited-edition model.
Aside from the addition of the automatic transmission, this new 1.9-litre diesel motor also makes more power and torque. While the 2.5-litre engine in the manual transmission variants makes 134bhp and 320Nm, this one churns out 148bhp and 350Nm. Just like the other variants, this one too comes with a shift on the fly 4WD system. Other changes to the D-Max V-Cross are on the inside. This Z-Prestige variant comes with dual-tone brown and grey perforated leather seats but continues with the all-black treatment to the dashboard.
Everything else, from the exterior design to the feature list remains more or less unchanged from the High Z trim. The Z-Prestige also comes with button start, speed-sensing auto door-lock, seat belt reminder, USB charging for the second row and more. The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment comes with Bluetooth, AUX and USB connectivity, and more interestingly, roof-mounted speakers for a live-surround experience. In terms of safety, the Z-Prestige 6 airbags in comparison to the 2 in the High Z trim. It also comes with Hill Decent Control and Hill Hold functions. The exterior of the car remains unchanged from the face-lifted version. The Z-Prestige also gets the bold chrome grille, Bi-LED headlamps, fog lamps, diamond-cut 18-inch alloy wheels, a shark fin antenna and LED taillamps.
Isuzu now has three variants of the D-Max V-Cross on sale – standard, High (Z) and Z-Prestige. The top-spec is the only one on sale with the 1.9-litre motor and 6-speed AT combination.
