The Cyberster, MG's first electric sportscar, is confirmed to launch in January 2025 in India. It will be available through JSW MG Motor India's all-new retail channel known as MG Select, making it the first premium MG to do so. The first MG Select Car is built on a born-electric platform and is already available in European markets including Italy and the UK.
Recently revealed through an officially released video clip, the India-spec electric two-door sportscar has a contemporary design that incorporates a distinctive low nose, sleek LED headlights (with Daytime Running Lamps), a contoured bonnet, and a split air intake up front. The curvaceous rear end features arrow-shaped tail lamps, while the side profile is shaped by bold lines, sharp creases, and diamond-cut alloy wheels. Rounding out the highlights are the powered scissor doors, through which owners can access a driver-focused cabin.
The scissor doors are a novelty feature and can open and close in five seconds with a single-touch button located on the centre console and the key fob. They come equipped with built-in Dual Radar sensors, ensuring protection while opening upwards or sideways. There is also an anti-pinch bounce-back feature for added safety. Dimensionally, the sportscar measures 4,533mm in length, 1,912mm in width, and 1,328mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,689mm.
