A new-generation Volkswagen Tayron SUV is reportedly in the works. In India, the new SUV will likely be launched in 2025. Karlheinz Hell, chief of engineer at Volkswagen, has revealed a few details about the second-generation model ahead of its global debut. He said that the new model would take the Tiguan AllSpace's place in the firm's line-up in the international market. According to Karlheinz Hell, the next-gen SUV will be produced in Germany rather than China and sold in both European and North American markets. It has been further revealed that the new car be built on an updated MQB platform, which will also underpin the revamped Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq. Dimensionally, the upcoming SUV will be bigger than the previous iteration. After its international market introduction, the new SUV will reportedly enter our market by 2025 via the CKD route. Let's learn more about the upcoming Volkswagen model in terms of design and other specs.

New Volkswagen Tayron SUV: Key Details
In terms of appearance, the future Volkswagen model will be available with both SUV and coupe body variants. According to industry reports, the SUV will be available in 5- and 7-seater versions, while the coupe variant will only be offered in a 5-seat layout. The current model is similar to the Tiguan AllSpace and the basic Tiguan models in terms of dimensions and design. Mechanically speaking, the new SUV is likely to be equipped with a 2.0-litre petrol or a diesel engine. It will also reportedly have a 48-volt mild hybrid configuration. For transmission, it could include a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Additionally, two petrol plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), with 201bhp and 268bhp, will presumably be an option. For our market, Volkswagen will probably offer the 2.0-litre petrol engine. Right now, it's unclear if the PHEV versions will also be available here or not.
