Ford has taken covers off the 2015 EcoSport SUV that will hit the UK showrooms in October. Changes include updated styling, improved driving dynamics and new equipment.
Perhaps the biggest visual change in the new EcoSport is the absence of the rear-mounted spare wheel, which now comes at the discretion of the buyers. Those who decide not to opt for this peculiar look will get a tyre mobility kit as standard.
As far as the interiors are concerned, the Ford EcoSport gets partial leather seats on Titanium models while a four-inch Ford SYNC infotainment screen is available with all trims of this compact SUV.
On the engine front, buyers can choose between two petrol variants of 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre displacements while a 1.5-litre diesel engine is also on offer. The highest displacement petrol engine now produces 95 PS of power, a 5 PS improvement over what it managed when it did duty in the outgoing EcoSport.
Given the success of the current-gen EcoSport in India, expect Ford to reveal launch plans of its successor soon.
