Hyundai has pulled the wraps off the facelifted Tucson with reworked exterior and interior.
The Hyundai Tucson Facelift has been revealed at the 2018 New York Auto Show. The updates include a sharper exterior styling and a completely new interior.
At the front of the car, the cascading grille has been tweaked to match the latest generation of Hyundai’s models. The LED headlamps have been restyled to look sharper and the front bumper has also been tweaked around the fog lamp housing. The rear bumper has also been reworked with some minor revisions. Additionally, the tail lamps have also been updated, and so is the tail gate.
Hyundai has given the interior of the new Tucson a new layout inspired by the new Santa Fe and Kona models. The centre of the dash features a floating 7-inch touchscreen for the infotainment, which gets Android Auto and Apple Car Play. This comes along with Qi wireless charging and USB ports for the front and rear passengers.
We expect Hyundai to introduce the new Tucson in India by the end of the year. For the Indian market, a 2.0-litre turbo diesel and a 2.0-litre petrol will be the only engine options, with manual and automatic gearboxes on offer. Both these engines will be carried over from the current model on sale in India. However, the diesel engine will get a new eight-speed automatic transmission, and the petrol will continue to use the 6-speed gearbox. Only a 6-speed manual gearbox will be on offer for both engine options.
The current Hyundai Tucson in India is priced between Rs. 18 – 22 lakh range for the petrol model, while the diesel is priced at Rs. 20 – 25.4 lakh including the top of the range AWD version. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
