Hyundai Ioniq 9 to Debut Globally in November 2024
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 will share the e-GMP platform with the Kia EV9. This suggests that they will likely be similar in size and positioning.
Hyundai is set to reveal its flagship electric SUV, the Ioniq 9, in November 2024. Teased ahead of the global reveal, the Hyundai Ioniq 9 has styling similar to the Seven Concept showcased at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show. Its rounded design contrasts with the Kia EV9's boxy design, but they are closely related when it comes to the seat layout and platform. The Ioniq 9 has what Hyundai says is an 'aerosthetic silhouette', a unique combination of 'aerodynamic performance and an aesthetic appeal'. Rather than rear suicide doors, the vehicle features conventional doors with B-pillars. It gets a full-width LED light bar with 'parametric pixels' at the front, like the smaller Ioniq 6. While the side profile incorporates squared-off wheel arches, pop-out door handles, and broad D-pillars, the pixel theme of lights seems to continue at the rear with taillamps stacked vertically on the D-pillar.

Hyundai Ioniq 9: Powertrain, Underpinnings
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 will be based on the same e-GMP architecture as the Kia EV9 sold abroad, and will likely be offered with the same 76.1kWh and 99.8kWh battery packs. The EV9 claims a range of up to 561km on a single charge, while its power output ranges from 200bhp to 380bhp, depending on how you configure the car. Hyundai will likely add a more powerful N variant to the Ioniq 9 lineup at a later stage.
Hyundai Ioniq 9: Features
Further details are yet to be revealed, but it is known that the Hyundai Ioniq 9 will be offered in a three-row seating configuration like the EV9. While not confirmed, the interior will likely be made of soft-touch materials and feature multiple screens. A few physical buttons are expected to be retained for media controls and climate settings.
