The journey that started with the Prophecy Concept, back in 2020, is set to culminate in just a few days.
Hyundai has released official teasers of the upcoming Ioniq 6 on the EV's dedicated website, along with the brand's social media handles. Of course, this is a build-up to the full reveal, which is just a few days away. However, in typical Hyundai fashion, the brand hasn't revealed all the technical specifications and information regarding the car's global reveal. Full details are most likely to be revealed sometime by mid-July, during the 2022 Busan Auto Show in South Korea (not confirmed yet).
In the teasers, the road-going Ioniq 6 looks quite promising, although it won't be as sharp-looking as the show car. The Ioniq range's signature 'Parametric Pixel' design language can be seen in numerous places, including the huge rear spoiler-integrated taillight and vertical reflectors at the back. Plus, we also see a first glimpse of the promised coupe-like roofline
In terms of the mechanical hardware, we suspect that the Ioniq 6 will receive the same powertrain options that are offered with the Kia EV6. So, expect long-range (77.4kWh) and standard-range (58kWh) battery pack options, which may be offered in both Rear-Wheel Drive (single motor) and All-Wheel Drive (dual motor) configurations. For reference, the top-of-the-line EV6 GT is capable of reaching 260km/h and accelerating from 0 – 100km/h in just 3.5 seconds.
