Hyundai revealed the Ioniq 5 eN1 Cup race car concept at its N Festival in South Korea. It is based on the powerful Hyundai Ioniq 5 N – a road-legal vehicle – and will compete in Korea's single-make series in May 2024. Numerous track-specific performance-oriented enhancements will be included in the racing competition edition. The biggest change will be a weight reduction of up to 551 pounds (230kgs) in comparison to the current Ioniq 5 N. This will presumably be accomplished by the use of polycarbonate components for the side and back glass. Other changes include stronger suspension, an air jack, an overhauled brake system, a 70mm reduced ride height, a six-point FIA-compliant roll cage, and improved battery protection.

Furthermore, the adjustable suspension will have pillow ball mounts with spherical joints for a more durable attachment to the structure. Although a lot is yet to be revealed about this race-spec version, Hyundai believes that the model featuring a range of enhancements will leave an indelible mark on the racing series, which is scheduled to debut in Korea.
Hyundai Ioniq eN1 Cup Race Car: Some More Highlights
The sporty chassis and revised bodywork, which consists of enormous air intakes, a wide diffuser, and a rear wing, will be hallmarks of the performance-focused eN1 Cup. Additionally, the race car will be furnished with 18-inch wheels and 280/680 R18 slick tyres. The upcoming performance-focused electric vehicle's technical specifications are currently unknown, but it is expected that the track-ready vehicle would use the same dual electric motors that are found in the regular Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and can produce about 632bhp in the N Grin Boost mode.
It is important to keep in mind that these are mere speculations, and the carmaker will formally disclose the real powertrain numbers probably closer to the start of production. However, market reports suggest that the Hyundai Ioniq 5 eN1 Cup vehicle will be completed by February 2024.
