At Rs 9.82 lakh, the new base petrol variant of the Hyundai Creta makes it the most affordable trim in the range. However, the company has also hiked the prices of the other variants of the Creta by up to Rs 62,000!
Hyundai has introduced a new petrol base variant of the Creta in the Indian market. Called the ‘E’ variant, the new trim is priced at Rs 9.82 lakh, meaning that the starting price of the vehicle has gone down by Rs 17,000. Thus far, the E variant was only offered in diesel, while the petrol range kicked off with the EX variant. In addition to the new base petrol variant, Hyundai has also jacked up the prices of the entire Creta range by up to Rs 62,000!
The 1.5 petrol EX variant of the Creta, which was priced at Rs 9.99 lakh, has received the steepest hike, as it now costs Rs 10.61 lakh! All other petrol Creta variants have received a price hike of Rs 12,000. The diesel variants of the Creta have also become dearer by Rs 12,000, except for the base E version, which hasn't received any hike and still retails at Rs 9.99 lakh.
Other than the hike in prices, there are no changes – the Creta remains mechanically unchanged. The petrol Creta is offered in two engine options – a 113bhp naturally aspirated 1.5-litre engine and a 138bhp 1.4-litre turbo petrol unit. The former is offered with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox, while the latter comes only with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The diesel version of the SUV is available with a 1.5-litre engine, rated at 113bhp, and it’s offered with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed AT (torque converter).
With the new petrol base variant and a price hike across the range, the Hyundai Creta line-up is now priced between Rs 9.82 lakh and Rs 17.32 lakh.
