The new Grand i10 Nios also becomes Hyundai's first model in the country to receive a BS-VI compliant petrol motor.

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios has been launched in India with prices starting from ₹ 4.99 lakh for the entry-level Era petrol variant. The petrol variant line-up goes up all the way up to ₹ 7.13 lakh for the top-spec Asta variant. The diesel range of the Grand i10 Nios starts from ₹ 6.70 lakh and goes up to ₹ 7.99 lakh (All prices are Ex-showroom). Available in Hyundai's four signature trims (Era, Magna, Sportz & Asta), there are a total of 10 variants on offer (7 petrol, 3 diesel) with four powertrain combinations.

As reported earlier, the Grand i10 Nios is not a replacement model as it will continue to sell alongside the existing Grand i10 (the old car will eventually lose out on the diesel variants). What makes the Grand i10 Nios different from the preceding car is the fact that it is bigger, offers more equipment (including quite a few segment-first features) & gets plenty of styling upgrades. Overall, the Grand i10 iNios aims to be a premium offering from Hyundai India and it slots in just below the bigger i20 hatchback.

Measuring 3,805mm in length & 1,680mm in width, the Grand i10 Nios is 40mm longer & 20mm wider than the Grand i10. The increase in length gives the Grand i10 Nios a 25mm longer wheelbase too, which translates into a spacious cabin. Talking of bigger dimensions, the new car also gets new 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, replacing the earlier 14-inch units.

Like the Grand i10, Grand i10 Nios continues to be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol & diesel motors. Though, as mentioned above, the petrol motor is now BS-VI compliant, making the Grand i10 Nios the first BS-VI ready car in HMIL's line-up. The 1,197cc Kappa petrol motor continues to make 82bhp & 114Nm of torque (20.5-20.7km/l), while the 1,186 U2 CRDi diesel unit churns out 74bhp & 190Nm of torque (26.2km/l), same as before.

Contrary to earlier reports suggesting that the Grand i10 Nios won't be offered with an AMT option, Hyundai has indeed gone on to launch the Grand i10 Nios with 5-speed AMT & 5-speed manual gearbox options (in exchange for the Grand i10's 4-speed torque converter automatic), which will be available with both petrol & diesel-powered variants.

Like Hyundai's latest-gen models, the Grand i10 Nios also gets the rather unmistakable cascading grille. The redesigned front-end gets an enhanced visual appeal, courtesy of new projector headlamps (a first for the i10), boomerang-shaped LED DRLs & projector fog lamps (segment-first). The rear of the car too has been redesigned as it features refreshed taillights & a reworked bumper. The Grand i10 Nios is available in six exterior colour options: Aqua Teal (New), Alpha Blue (New), Titan Grey (New), Fiery Red, Typhoon Silver & Polar White. Out of these, Aqua Teal & Polar White will be available as dual-tone options as well (in petrol Sportz variant only), with black contrast roof, taking the total exterior options to eight.

In terms of features, Hyundai has given the Grand i10 Nios quite a few segment-first offerings like wireless phone charging, an Arkamys premium sound system & eco-coating on the AC Evaporator (to eliminate foul odour). Other than this, what's new on the Grand i10 Nios is a 13.46cm digital instrument cluster, a bigger 20.25cm touchscreen infotainment system & a rear parking camera (part of the rear-view monitor on higher-spec variants). Other features like cooled glovebox, a rear power outlet, keyless entry with push-button start-stop, etc. continue to be carried over from the previous-gen model. Compared to the Grand i10's two-tone Beige & Black interior, the Grand i10 Nios gets a more upmarket two-tone Grey theme (with Aqua Teal, Alpha Blue & Storm Grey colours) and an all-black interior as the second option.

Hyundai is also offering the Grand i10 Nios with its first-ever 'Variable Basic Warranty', which gets three options: a 3-Year/1,00,000Km plan, a 4-Year/50,000km plan or a 5-Year/40,000Km plan, along with Road-Side Assistance (RSA). Here's a look at the variant-wise price break-up of the new Grand i10 Nios (All prices are ex-showroom):
