Hyundai Motor India has launched the new Grand i10 Nios at a starting price of Rs 5.68 lakh (ex-showroom) in the country. Era, Magna, Sportz, and Asta are four variants of the model. The hatchback's 2023 iteration lacks options for a diesel or turbo-petrol engine, just as the previous Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. There are now two 1.2-litre Kappa engines available - a petrol one with 82bhp and 113.8Nm of torque and a dual-fuel (petrol & CNG) one with 68bhp and 95.2Nm of torque. The petrol engine will get 5-speed MT and AMT options and the dual-fuel engine will have 5-speed MT. The powertrains offered with the model are now in compliance with the upcoming RDE norms, according to the company. Coming to the exterior, the updated hatchback sports redesigned grille, Y-shaped LED DRLs that are integrated into the front bumper, a sharkfin antenna, updated LED taillamps, and projector headlamps. Additionally, a new set of 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels are added to the Grand i10 Nios facelift.
On the exterior, the new Spark Green colour choice has come with the updated model. Titan Grey, Teal Blue, Fiery Red, Polar White, and Typhoon Silver are the other colour options, which will be made available with the updated version. Additionally, there will also be the accessibility of a dual-tone colour choice - Polar White with black roof and Spark Green with black roof.

For the 2023 facelift, the model, like the previous generation version, gets an advanced cabin. The hatchback's updated cabin features for 2023 include a wireless phone charger, completely automatic climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen audio display with smartphone navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto-connectivity, and cruise control. Additionally, it comes with a 3.5-inch speedometer with a multi-information display (MID) and a TPMS display. A type C fast USB charger, leather-wrapped
steering wheel, grey upholstery with piping and Nios embossing, a smart key with push button start/stop and metal finish inside door handles are some more features of the facelift.
In terms of safety, the Grand i10 Nios facelift now offers 30 features, including four standard airbags, six optional airbags, cruise control, electronic stability control, hill start assists control, vehicle stability management, parking assist with rear parking sensors, a rear camera, and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) – Highline. As for its market rivals, the new model will compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, the Tata Tiago, and more.

In a recent development, Hyundai also launched the much-awaited Ioniq 5 in India. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV boasts a price tag of Rs 44.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The price is for the first 500 units only. It has a 72.6kWh battery and a permanent magnet synchronous motor that delivers 214bhp and 350Nm. It can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes using a 350 kW DC fast charger, however, there are only a few of these chargers across India. The Ioniq 5 EV has a range of 631 kilometre on a single charge.
