Hyundai Exter SUV Gets Variant Rejig; Check Out What's New
The starting price of the Hyundai Exter's base EX trim stays at Rs 6 lakh, while the SX Tech dual-cylinder CNG trim now tops the range at Rs 9.53 lakh, ex-showroom.

Hyundai has revamped the Exter SUV lineup with the introduction of a new SX Tech variant, the re-launch of the S+ trim, and updates to the existing S variant. These changes are aimed at offering customers a more comprehensive set of choices with enhanced features and value propositions. The SX Tech variant brings advanced technology features and premium touches, while the reintroduced S+ and refined S trims cater to a wider range of buyers. These updates position the Exter to better compete with rivals such as the Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, and Renault Kiger. With a range of upgrades across the range, Hyundai continues its efforts to strengthen the Exter’s appeal in the competitive compact SUV segment.
Hyundai Exter: Price List
The updates to the Exter range come along with a slight price increase. The range begins at Rs 6.00 lakh and goes up all the way to Rs 9.53 lakh. Prices are ex-showroom. Let's look at the prices of the revamped variants.

Hyundai Exter: New Features
A key highlight of this refresh is the introduction of the SX Tech trim, positioned below the SX(O) and SX(O) Connect variants. Available in petrol-manual, petrol-AMT, and CNG-manual configurations, it features amenities like an eight-inch infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a sunroof, keyless entry and go, a push-button start, automatic climate control, a dashcam with dual cameras, and projector headlamps. On the other hand, the amenities that this variant lacks include a cooled glovebox, wireless charging, a rear wiper found in the SX(O) trim, ambient lighting, and leatherette upholstery.

The South Korean carmaker has also reintroduced the petrol-only S+ variant, which boasts a rearview camera, dual-tone alloy wheels, an eight-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, rear AC vents, an electric sunroof, and electronically adjustable ORVMs.

The petrol-powered S variant has also been upgraded, now featuring an eight-inch infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a rear parking camera, vehicle stability management, dual-tone alloy wheels, electronic stability control (ESC), and hill-start assist.
Hyundai Exter: Engine Options
Under the hood, the compact SUV features a 1.2-litre Kappa four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that delivers 82bhp of peak power and 113.8Nm of maximum torque.

Buyers can choose between a five-speed manual transmission and a five-speed AMT gearbox. Meanwhile, the CNG variant offers 68bhp and 95.2Nm of torque, paired exclusively with a five-speed manual transmission.
