At the launch of the Grand i10, we brought you exclusive news about the discontinuation of the 1.2-litre Kappa 2 engine. This was revealed to us at the round table with Mr R K Srivastava and Nalin Kapoor, held at the launch.

Now, Hyundai has made a move to discontinue the top-end variants -- the Sportz and Asta -- of its i10 hatchbacks, which are powered by this very engine.

The Hyundai i10 will now be available in two variants -- the Era and Magna. These variants are powered by the 1.1-litre iRDE motor. But the major disappointment is for those who still wanted the i10 with an auto-box but fret not Hyundai has plans to introduce the Grandi10 with an automatic transmission. Let’s see when that happens.
