The upcoming Hyundai Creta S+ automatic diesel misses out on a few features but will have a more affordable price tag by almost Rs. 1 lakh in comparison to the higher spec SX+ diesel automatic variant of the Creta.
Hyundai is doing everything it can to keep the attention span of potential buyers pinned on the Creta. With heat coming in strong from the new Toyota Innova which is outselling the more affordable and smaller Creta and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza compact SUV nudging the Creta’s sales figures from the lower end of the price bracket, Hyundai needs to find arsenal to keep its Creta listed on the ‘buzz words’ list for the here and now generation.
In doing so, Hyundai will be launching yet another version of its popular Creta SUV in the form of a new mid-range S+ automatic diesel variant of the car to make the diesel automatic Creta more affordable for potential buyers.
Until now, the Hyundai Creta diesel automatic was only available in the second-from-top SX+ trim which is priced at Rs. 14.57 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). While the official launch of the new Creta S+ automatic has been confirmed, the car is not officially on the market as of now. However, its price is rumoured to be pegged at around Rs. 1 lakh more affordable than the aforementioned SX+ diesel automatic model’s price.
The Hyundai Creta S+ trim offers power steering, power windows all around, electrically adjustable ORVMs, a 7.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, 1GB storage space and Bluetooth connectivity, front fog lamps, follow-me-home head lamps, 16 inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors and rear view camera, ABS with EBD and dual front airbags on the equipment list.
What it misses out in terms of equipment as compared to the SX+ variant is climate control, electrically folding ORVMs, keyless entry and start / stop, cornering lamps, projector head lamps and rear wash wipe.
