Hyundai is all set to launch the Creta N Line in India on March 11 this year, and the sportier variant will join the Creta facelift in the lineup. This will be the third N Line model from the Korean brand in the country after the i20 N Line (2021) and the Venue N Line (2022), and the spy shots of the Creta N Line have hinted at exterior and interior updates over the standard facelifted Creta. However, the new N Line product will remain mechanically unchanged. While the price announcement is some time away, here's what you can expect:
Hyundai Creta N Line: Exterior
Like the existing N Line models, expect the Creta N Line to adopt a similar design theme. The changes to the car's front end will include a slender grille, a tweaked bumper, and larger air inlets, other things being the same. Along the sides, there will be N Line-specific red accents, side skirts with N Line branding, and bigger 18-inch wheels (as against 16- and 17-inch wheels available with the regular version).
At the rear, the sportier version of the Creta will come with a reworked bumper, dual-tip exhaust pipes, and a roof-mounted spoiler. The two new colour options – Blue and Matte Grey – will likely be available on the N Line. These colours were spotted on the test mules last month.
Hyundai Creta N Line: Interior
The interior of the new Creta N Line will likely incorporate an all-black theme, along with N Line-specific bits such as subtle red accents on the dashboard, a three-spoke steering wheel, gearshift lever, metal pads, and leather upholstery. Features-wise, expect the car to come with the same 10.25-inch screens as the Creta facelift – an infotainment screen with in-built navigation and a digital driver display. Other elements include ventillated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, and a Level 2 ADAS suite.
Hyundai Creta N Line: Engine, Suspension
Powering the Hyundai Creta N Line will be the same turbo-petrol engine as the facelifted Creta. The N Line will get a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit, producing 158bhp and 253Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties will be taken care of by a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT. Aside from that, the suspension setup could receive the special N Line treatment.
Hyundai Creta N Line: Price
The Hyundai Creta N Line will go on sale alongside the standard Creta, which falls between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Speaking of which, the recently refreshed Creta clocked a new milestone in India – crossing the 10 lakh unit sales mark this month. One of the best-selling mid-size SUVs in India accounted for 26.1 per cent of the firm's domestic sales in 2023, holding a 30.7 per cent market share in the mid-size SUV market.
Coming back to the Creta N Line, the bookings are expected to begin by the end of February. Price-wise, the sportier SUV is expected to command a premium over the regular version.
Hyundai Creta EV Likely to Arrive in 2024
Hyundai is also readying its mass-market EV for the country. It is called the Creta EV, which will likely be powered by a 55 to 60kWh battery pack, providing a range of roughly 550 kilometres on a single charge. The EV was spied on this month, showing new alloy wheels and more.
