Hyundai Creta Facelift to Launch in India on January 16; Here's What to Expect

The all-new Hyundai Creta is likely to make its entry in India on January 16, 2024. The updated SUV will reportedly command a significant premium over the current model, which has a starting price of Rs 10.87 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hyundai is expected to launch the new Creta in the country on January 16. The car has been seen undergoing intensive road testing in our market for many months. Based on the previous spy photographs, it appears that the upcoming Hyundai model will feature a boxy exterior design with new LED headlights and DRLs. Moreover, its slatted grille will have more prominent inlays. Other significant updates include redesigned front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels, and split-LED taillights with dynamic turn indicators. There has been no official announcement yet, but the upcoming Hyundai SUV is expected to feature significant internal modifications. These may include a revised dashboard design, new seat upholstery, and several upgraded features. Due to such extensive changes, the refreshed Creta is anticipated to come with a higher price tag than the existing model, which has a starting price of Rs 10.87 lakh (ex-showroom). The Volkswagen Taigun, the Skoda Kushaq, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and the Honda Elevate are expected to be its main competitors in the market.

Hyundai Creta Facelift: Engine 

While Hyundai is yet to make an official announcement, the redesigned Creta is expected to include a more powerful new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit with 159bhp in its line-up. Both the current 1.5-litre diesel and naturally aspirated petrol motors will remain unchanged.

The upcoming Creta model is expected to undergo some design changes, including a new bumper, modified tailgate, and revamped grille. The sides of the car will likely remain unchanged, except for a few minor adjustments and a new alloy wheel design. Some of the new features that the new Creta model may come equipped with include a 360-degree camera and an ADAS package, similar to the new Seltos. It's also expected to have new upholstery colour options and other minor improvements. These details were revealed through previous spy photographs.

Hyundai Creta Facelift: Expected Price

Automakers often increase the price of their models when they release facelift versions. This is expected to happen with the Creta facelift, which is predicted to come with a significant premium over the current model. Based on market speculation, the car's starting ex-showroom price will be around Rs 10.50 lakh. This will be the first update for the Creta's second generation, which went on sale in India in the middle of 2020. It will be interesting to see what changes Hyundai has in store for its Indian audience with this updated SUV.
