Hyundai's SUV and MPV models, the Creta and the Stargazer, were the first ones to undergo ASEAN NCAP testing under the new ASEAN NCAP 2021 – 2025 evaluation process.

Earlier this year, Hyundai introduced the new Creta facelift and the Stargazer MPV in the Indonesian market. The New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) recently evaluated both cars.

While the Stargazer received a 4-star rating in the most recent ASEAN NCAP assessment protocol, the new Hyundai Creta achieved a full 5-star rating in crash tests. The Hyundai Creta facelift has scored 34.72 points for adult safety, 15.56 points for child occupant safety, 14.08 points for safety assist, and 11.42 points for motorcyclist protection.

The Creta tested by the ASEAN NCAP includes two airbags, although the top-spec versions of the SUV feature six airbags. The SUV also comes with ISOFIX installation for child seats, electronic stability control (ESC), an anti-lock braking system (ABS), a seatbelt reminder system, and pedestrian protection technology.

Depending on the type and the market, the new Hyundai Creta Facelift also comes with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which include features like lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, autonomous emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control as standard or optional. The design of Hyundai's Creta facelift SUV is influenced by that of the new-generation Tucson.

The updated Hyundai Creta is anticipated to go on sale in India in 2023 and will probably retain its ADAS features. The engine choices will most likely remain the same. The Creta will come with three different engines in India – a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The price for the current Hyundai Creta ranges between ₹10.44 lakh and ₹18.24 lakh (ex-showroom).
