Hyundai is all geared up to give the Creta a mid-lifecycle update, and as has been reported already, it will be launched in the Indian market on January 16. However, a few days before its launch, the exterior images of the Creta facelift have surfaced on the internet, giving us a clear look at the upcoming midsize SUV.
Based on the leaked images, the new Hyundai Creta gets cosmetic enhancements over the previous generation model. It features a redesigned front fascia, defined by a rectangular grille with a chrome finish, Quad beam LED headlamps with new LED daytime running lights, large faux skid plates, and a revised bumper. Along the sides, the car gets new dual-tone alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the rear end sports a full-width LED light bar with connected LED taillamps, vertically stacked reflectors, a new bumper with a redesigned number plate recess, and a 3D Hyundai logo.
Hyundai Creta Facelift: Interior, Features
Hyundai had already revealed the interior of the new Creta late last week. The dashboard of the Creta facelift is dominated by twin 10.25-inch screens – an infotainment screen with in-built navigation and a digital driver display. With the introduction of the inbuilt music streaming application JioSaavn to the new Creta, users can listen to ad-free music. You also get the physical buttons and knobs for the AC below the centre console.
Other conveniences include ambient lighting, ventillated front seats, an eight-way powered driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, an eight-speaker Bose sound system, type-C USB chargers, as well as a Level 2 ADAS suite.
Hyundai Creta Facelift: Safety Equipment
In terms of safety, the updated Creta comes with a SmartSense Level 2 ADAS suite with 19 functions, including a blind spot monitoring system that helps you detect vehicles in your blind spot. The standard safety equipment of the car includes six airbags, electronic stability control, all-wheel disc brakes, and 33 others. Other bits are a tyre pressure monitoring system and a 360-degree camera.
New Hyundai Creta: Powertrain
Under the hood, three engine options will be available: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated gasoline engine, a 1.5-litre diesel motor, and a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit. For transmission, there will be four options on offer: a 6-speed manual, an IVT, a 7-speed DCT, and a 6-speed automatic.

Six monochromatic paint options and a single dual-tone colour scheme will be offered – Robust Emerald Pearl (New), Fiery Red, Ranger Khaki, Abyss Black, Atlas White, Titan Grey, and Atlas White with Black Roof, respectively. In terms of market rivalry, the forthcoming midsize SUV will go against the Kia Seltos, the MG Astor, the Honda Elevate, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the Skoda Kushaq, and the Volkswagen Taigun.
