The Hyundai Creta EV and Kia Carens EV have been spotted testing together ahead of their upcoming launch in India. These electric models aim to provide eco-friendly options alongside their popular internal combustion engine versions, meeting the growing demand for EVs in the country. Both the Creta EV and Carens EV are expected to feature modern designs and advanced technology, focusing on performance and practicality for Indian consumers. As manufacturers prioritise sustainability, these vehicles are set to appeal to buyers looking for greener alternatives while retaining the style and functionality that both brands are known for. Their release is poised to make a significant impact in the compact SUV market in India.

Hyundai Creta EV, Kia Carens EV: Exterior and Interior Components
The Hyundai Creta EV will closely resemble the facelifted version introduced earlier this year, but it will incorporate EV-specific features like a closed front grille with an integrated front camera, revised lighting units, redesigned front and rear bumpers, and newly designed alloy wheels with arrow inserts. Inside, the car will have a new gear lever, an updated center console, a 10.25-inch curved infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully digital display, grey and black dual-tone theme, Creta Electric branding on the seats, and a three-spoke steering wheel.
In contrast, information about the Kia Carens EV is still limited. It is anticipated to have an updated front grille, more aerodynamically designed alloy wheels, and new lighting units. The cabin will probably be similar to that of the internal combustion engine (ICE) version of the MPV.
Hyundai Creta EV, Kia Carens EV: Expected Powertrain
Details about the powertrain are still unclear, but the Creta EV is projected to be equipped with a 45-60kWh battery unit. It is estimated to have a range of approximately 450 km to 500 km, with the electric motor's output expected to be comparable to that of the turbo petrol variant of the Creta. However, the electric model should provide improved acceleration. The same powertrain configuration is anticipated to be featured in the Kia Carens EV as well.
Hyundai Creta EV, Kia Carens EV: India Launch
The Creta EV is slated for an early launch next year, with its unveiling expected at the 2025 Auto Expo or the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo. The Kia Carens EV, on the other hand, will likely debut in the latter half of the year.

Hyundai Creta EV, Kia Carens EV: Rivals
Upon launch in India, the Kia Carens EV will go up against the newly launched BYD eMax 7 and upcoming models like the Mahindra XUV.e8 and Maruti Suzuki eVX. Meanwhile, the Hyundai Creta EV will compete with the Mahindra XUV400, BYD Atto 3, MG ZS EV, and Tata Curvv EV.
