The launch of the Hyundai Creta electric is around the corner, and the company is consistently sharing key details to build excitement. The EV is expected to start at Rs 17 lakh, positioning it as a competitive option in the segment. It will go head-to-head with models like the Mahindra BE 6 (18.90 lakh), the Tata Curvv EV (Rs 17.49 lakh), and the MG ZS EV (18.98 lakh). These are ex-showroom and starting prices. While Hyundai has yet to reveal the official price of its electric SUV, we’ve compared its features and key specifications with the well-known MG ZS EV to help you choose the one that best suits your needs.
Hyundai Creta Electric vs MG ZS EV: Battery, Range and Charging
Hyundai offers two battery options for the Creta EV: a 42kWh and a 51.4kWh. The 42kWh battery generates 133bhp, whereas the 51.4kWh variant churns out 169bhp. With the latter, the Creta EV achieves a range of 473 kilometres, while the former offers a range of 390 kilometres. The Creta EV comes with an 11kW AC charger, capable of fully recharging the 51.4kWh battery in around four hours. A DC fast charger is also available for faster turnaround, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes.
The ZS EV, on the other hand, is powered by a 50.3kWh lithium-ion battery paired with an electric motor that generates 174bhp and 280Nm of torque. A full charge from 0% to 100% takes about 9 hours with a 7.4kW AC charger. However, with a 50kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 0% to 80% in just 60 minutes. The MG ZS EV offers a range of up to 461 kilometres on a single charge, according to ARAI certification.
Hyundai Creta Electric vs MG ZS EV: Features
Both electric SUVs offer a good range of features, but the Creta EV stands out with amenities like larger screens, ventilated front seats, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, ambient lighting, and dual-zone climate control. It has a new centre console with a rotary knob, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a foldable tray table. The SUV also offers a one-pedal driving mode and a gear selector located on the steering column. For storage, the vehicle provides a 22-litre front trunk (frunk) and a 433-litre boot. It comes with a 2,610mm wheelbase.

Hyundai’s SUV has a Level 2 ADAS, including adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and lane-keeping assist. It is also equipped with tyre pressure monitoring, front/rear parking sensors, six airbags, and a 360-degree camera.
In contrast, the MG ZS EV comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, and auto AC with rear vents. It also includes a 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, six airbags, hill descent control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system for safety.
Hyundai Creta Electric vs MG ZS EV: Design
The electric Creta looks a lot like the base model, but there are a few EV-special touches like a grille with a pixelated pattern and a front bumper with active air flaps, improving aerodynamics and cooling. The charging port is neatly hidden behind the Hyundai emblem on the grille. The electric SUV rides on aerodynamically optimised 17-inch alloy wheels. It comes in a choice of eight vibrant single-tone colours, including five metallic and three matte finishes.

The ZS EV has a closed grille with the charging port neatly placed to the left of the MG emblem. Its striking front bumper, adorned with chrome inserts, extends across the lower section, while the new 17-inch machined alloy wheels with a five-spoke design accentuate the SUV’s distinctive look. As for the colours, the EV offers multiple options like Glaze Red, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, and Candy White. Notably, the 100-Year Edition offers a special British Racing Green finish.
