Hyundai Creta Electric to Get Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), Level-2 ADAS and More Features

The electric Hyundai Creta will have a dual-zone climate control, a new three-spoke steering wheel, and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System).

In the lead-up to the launch on January 17, 2025, Hyundai has revealed some key specs of the electric Creta, building excitement among automotive enthusiasts. The electric Creta will have dual-zone climate control, a new three-spoke steering wheel, and cutting-edge V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) technology. It will also include a digital key feature that will enable seamless access to the vehicle using a smartphone or smartwatch. The SUV will pack an innovative i-pedal that enables drivers to use the accelerator pedal alone to accelerate, decelerate, and even stop the car entirely. Additionally, the car benefits from shift-by-wire technology.

In terms of safety, the electrified Creta is loaded with an extensive Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) suite, which includes essential functions like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring. It also has six airbags (as standard), a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and front and rear parking sensors.

Hyundai Creta Electric: Battery and Charging

Hyundai has already revealed that the electrified Creta packs two battery options: 42kWh (390km range) and 51.4kWh (473km range). Now, adding to the excitement, the company has announced performance figures for each variant. The 42kWh battery will be matched with a 133bhp front axle-mounted electric motor, while the 51.4kWh version will feature a more powerful 167bhp motor, which is more powerful than the Creta N Line (158bhp). The long-range version has a thrilling 0-100km/h acceleration time of 7.9 seconds.

The Creta Electric features an 11kW AC charger that can fully charge the larger 51.4kWh battery in just four hours. A DC fast charger is also available, capable of charging the SUV from 10% to 80% in only 58 minutes. The myHyundai app adds to convenience by allowing users to remotely control the charging process, including options to start, stop, or schedule charging sessions.

Design-wise, the electric Creta resembles its ICE counterpart, with a few notable differences. These include an EV-specific pixelated-pattern grille and a front bumper with active air flaps, improving both aerodynamics and cooling efficiency. The electric Creta also includes a charging port cleverly integrated into the grille, displaying the Hyundai emblem, blacked-out roof, pillars, and ORVMs. The electric Creta has aerodynamically designed 17-inch alloy wheels, and is available in a range of 8 single-tone colours, with 5 metallic options and 3 matte ones.

Inside, the electric Creta receives an updated centre console and a new 3-spoke steering wheel, along with a host of new convenience features. One standout addition is in-car payment functionality, allowing drivers to pay for the vehicle’s charging directly through the infotainment screen. Other features include dual 10.25-inch displays—comprising a digital driver’s display and a touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, and an 8-speaker Bose sound system.
