Unveiled last month, Hyundai has commenced bookings of their new compact sedan – Aura. Set to replace the ageing Xcent, the Aura will take on the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo and the likes
Subsequent to the official unveiling of the Aura last month, Hyundai has now commenced bookings across all dealership and their official website. Customers can pay a minimum amount of Rs 10,000 to make their bookings. Hyundai is expected to launch the Aura later this month on 21st January.
Design-wise the Aura gets bold cues all around. Upfront it gets a wide grille with boomerang shaped Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) towards the edge. Giving it an air of premium news, the Aura also gets projector headlamps and fog lamps. Along the sides, it gets 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and ORVM casings with turn indicators. The Aura gets a distinctive looking rear with z-shaped tail lights and a chrome strip running along the boot lid.
The Aura will be offered with three powertrain options. Petrol iterations will come with a 1.2-litre unit that develops 82bhp and 114Nm and the option of a 1.0-litre turbocharged motor that pushes out 99bhp and 172Nm. The former will also be on sale with a CNG option. Coming to the diesel Aura, it makes peak power of 74bhp and max torque of 190Nm from a 1.2-litre motor. Hyundai will offer the Aura with a 5-speed manual as well as an AMT right from the time of launch.
The Aura, like every other Hyundai offering, will come loaded with features including wireless phone charging, leather wrapped steering wheel, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reverseing camera and more.
When launched, the Aura will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo and the Tata Tigor. Expect it to be priced in the Rs 7-11 lakh range.
