While we are excited to see the new 2022 Acura Integra at the upcoming Indonesia International Auto Show, we are more excited about the fact that Honda will also reveal its new sub-compact SUV, which is likely to be India-bound.
Honda seems to have interesting plans for the upcoming GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2021. The Japanese carmaker will unveil its new sub-compact SUV and the new-gen Acura Integra at the show on November 11.
While we would love to see the Acura Integra to be launched in India, we are more excited about the sub-compact SUV. While there is no confirmation from Honda India as yet, the new sub-compact SUV will most likely be considered for the Indian market as Honda’s contender against the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra XUV300.
Online reports suggest that the new-subcompact SUV will most probably carry the ZR-V name tag. So far, Honda is tight-lipped about the powertrain options and features, but what do we know so far is that the new sub-compact SUV will also come with an RS variant. The engine could be the same as the one available with the Honda City – a 1.5-litre petrol unit. It is too soon to confirm if the new sub-compact SUV will be launched with a diesel mill or not. All the specification details and features will be revealed later this week.
Back in September, Honda unveiled the new-gen BR-V, which could be an alternative for those considering the Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector Plus in India. However, there are no signs of Honda bringing the new generation of Honda BR-V to the Indian market, especially given that the previous-gen BR-V was discontinued some time ago.
