One unit of Civic, 575 units of Honda CR-V and 10,805 units of Honda Accord are to be recalled by HCIL over faulty airbag inflator issue.

Honda Cars India Ltd. has announced that it will replace passenger side air bag inflators of 575 CR-Vs made in 2004, and 10,805 units of Accord made between 2003 and 2007. One particular Honda Civic made in 2004 will also get its passenger side airbag inflator replaced as a part of this global recall/ safety improvement campaign. So far, no incident has been reported related to this issue in Honda cars.

HCIL will carry out the necessary replacements free of cost at HCIL dealerships across India from June 4, 2015. The entire thing will happen in a phased manner and the company will communicate with the customers directly. For the customers who want to figure out if their car is covered under this campaign, they can do so by submitting their 17 character alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the special microsite HCIL has created on its website (www.hondacarindia.com).
