Honda has recalled the City automatic to update the software of the CVT automatic gearbox
Honda Car India has voluntarily recalled 3,879 units of the City mid-size sedan’s automatic variant. Cars manufactured between February 2014 and November 2014 have been effected by the recall. Owners of the Honda City automatic can also visit Honda Car India’s website and enter their 17 digit alpha numeric vehicle identification number in the special microsite created for the cause.
The recall for the Honda City automatic is due to a software update required by the continuously variable automatic transmission. This is part of a larger global recall to address the issue. The software update for the Honda City automatic is being emphasized upon to optimize the hydraulic pressure applied to the CVT autobox.
Honda Car India will update the software free of cost across all their service centres free of cost for customers.
Earlier this year, Honda Car India had also recalled the Jazz, Civic, Accord, CR-V as a preventive measure to replace airbag inflators. Information related to the airbag recalls is also available on the Honda website.
