Honda has unveiled the first three models from its new 'Ye Series', including the P7, the S7, and the GT Concept, ahead of the upcoming motor show in Beijing. The Japanese automaker aims to introduce six 'Ye Series' vehicles by 2027. The Ye P7 and S7 will go on sale at the end of 2024, followed by production vehicles based on the GT concept by the end of 2025. Honda aims to achieve carbon neutrality for all goods and commercial endeavors globally by 2050. To do this, the carmaker plans to launch 10 electric vehicles in China by 2027 and achieve 100% of its automotive sales from EVs by 2035.
Let's take a look at the key features of these three models, which sport the brand-new 'H' logo, developed specifically for the brand's next-generation EV cars.
Honda Ye P7, S7
The Honda P7 and the S7 are the first Ye series models, based on a new and distinctive EV platform. These compact SUVs will come in two configurations: a single motor for rear-wheel drive and two motors for four-wheel drive. As can be seen in the images, the Honda Ye P7 and S7 have identical exteriors, featuring flush door handles, slim black pillars, and cameras in place of the traditional rearview mirror. Inside, both models sport intelligent components such as coordinated changes in LED emission patterns with AI assistance features.
Regarding these two first Ye series models, Honda states ''Both variations are designed in pursuit of the “joy of driving.” More specifically, the rear-wheel drive variation was designed to offer sporty and crisp handling, and the four-wheel drive variation was designed to offer both high power and highly responsive handling to realize driving at the will of the driver.''
Honda Ye GT Concept
The Honda Ye GT Concept features a broad and low profile, evocative of Grand Tourer (GT) cars. It will serve as the foundation for the second generation of Ye models, which are slated to hit the Chinese market by 2025. According to Honda, the concept offers features like a far-focus display (a first for Honda) for the passenger in the front seat, creating a private theater experience.
