Honda has confirmed that the new Amaze is scheduled to be launched in May 2018 and will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options.
Honda Cars India has commenced pre-launch bookings for the upcoming second-generation Amaze compact sedan in India. The booking amount is set at Rs 21,000.
The all-new Amaze was globally revealed at the 2018 Auto Expo in February this year. It is built on an all-new platform which has been developed at Honda R&D Asia Pacific, which is located in Bangkok, Thailand.
Aesthetically, it looks nothing like the car it is set to replace. It’s lot more beefed up and features Honda’s familiar characteristic grille that extends above the headlamps. The rear has a relatively flat tailgate flanked by boomerang-style tail lights. The interior is a lot nicer too with a completely new design language.
The Amaze is confirmed to borrow its engine options from the outgoing model. However this time around, the car will feature an industry first CVT option with its 1.5-litre diesel engine. It isn’t clear if the 1.2-litre will also get CVT option or not.
Talking about the Honda Amaze, Rajesh Goel, Sr Vice President & Director, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “The Honda Amaze has been one of our very successful models in India, with over 2.57 lakh satisfied customers. With the second-generation Amaze, we are extremely excited to add another chapter to the success story of the model. It’s a big commitment from HCIL to its customers and for us it’s “Time To Go Big”.
