Honda Cars India is expected to pull covers from the much-anticipated mid-size SUV in Mid-2023. In the coming months, this new SUV will make its global debut and go on sale in India. According to the carmaker, the new SUV will lock horns with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and several other models. In terms of design, specs, and powertrain, the manufacturer has not revealed anything significant yet. However, we believe closer to the launch, expected by the middle of 2023, new details will surface on the internet. According to industry speculations, the upcoming mid-size SUV will have a design similar to that of the currently available Honda HR-V SUV. It will get a set of LED headlamps with an upper-side LED DRL strip. Moreover, the new SUV will feature a sizable grille.
Mechanically, the upcoming mid-size SUV could get the 1.5-litre petrol engine, capable of producing 119bhp and 145Nm. Additionally, it might also get the City e:HEV hybrid's 1.5-litre strong-hybrid engine. This powertrain will consist of a front-mounted electric motor, a lithium-ion battery, and an Atkinson cycle petrol engine.

The vehicle will reportedly come with a five-seat configuration and a sizable trunk. In addition, the model is likely to come equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, new connected car technologies, a digital instrument cluster, and other high-tech features.
No information about its price has yet been revealed, but market reports suggest that the upcoming Honda Mid-size SUV's base model may cost Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom), whereas the top-end version could be priced at Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom).
In a recent development, Honda Cars India launched a facelifted version of the City, with prices starting at Rs 11.49 lakh and going as high as Rs 20.39 lakh (ex-showroom). The redesigned City costs Rs 15,000 – 35,000 more than the standard model. Both the City Petrol and hybrid versions come with a 3-year/unlimited Kilometre warranty as standard from Honda, which can be extended to up to five years. Honda is also providing an 8-year/1,60,000km battery warranty for the City Hybrid model.

According to reports, Honda Cars India will launch one new model annually in the Indian market to bolster the brand and assure long-term commercial viability starting in 2024. These new models could include both hybrid and electric vehicles.
