Honda Elevate Off-road Edition Revealed Ahead of Tokyo Auto Salon 2024
The Honda Elevate Off-road edition boasts a new grille with a Honda emblem and three LED marker lights, complementing the yellow fog lights. Black accents replace chrome and aluminium-style trim, and the headlights and taillights feature a tinted design.
Honda recently unveiled the latest model of the WR-V, known as the Honda Elevate in India, for the Japanese market. Expected to hit the market in early 2024, the Japanese rendition closely resembles its Indian counterpart externally but distinguishes itself internally with features such as an all-black cabin and added amenities. Ahead of the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024 in January, Honda has released a preview of an off-road-centric variant of the WR-V. Named the WR-V Field Explorer Concept, this SUV is tailored for off-road adventures and boasts a range of enhancements. Despite the Elevate's lack of dedicated off-road features, Honda has sold 20,000 units in India within the first 100 days since its launch. While this particular version may not excel in serious off-road capabilities, it undeniably enhances the Elevate's aesthetic with a bold and rugged appearance.
Honda Elevate Off-road Edition: Design
The new front grille incorporates three pilot lights along the top frame and boldly displays the Honda brand along the upper area. The fog lamps give off a unique yellow light, and the bumper's extra black cladding gives it a tougher look.

Coming to the sides, we can see that the panelling on the side sills is now thicker, and we can see that the silver accents along the bottom doors have been swapped with a sleek black finish. Even the wheels get a classy black coating.
Scrunchy black trim, smoked-out headlights, and a carrier installed on the roof give it a tough look. Coming around to the back, you may expect a bigger bumper design, maybe with smoked taillights for a unified and bold appearance.
Honda Elevate Off-road Edition: Engine
The WR-V versions made for the Indian and Japanese markets both have the same engine specs. Both models come with a 1.5-litre i-Vtec naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces a respectable 119bhp and 145Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a CVT automatic gearbox or a 6-speed manual gearbox.
From January 12th to the 14th, 2024, the Tokyo Auto Salon will be held. Honda will unveil not only the WR-V but also a number of additional concept vehicles culled from its worldwide catalogue. To add even more excitement to the occasion, the Red Bull RB19 F1 car will also be shown at the Honda exhibit.
