Honda, the Japanese automaker, is at last making a foray into the mid-size SUV market with its brand-new Elevate model. The Hyundai Creta's competitor, the Elevate, was just introduced in India last month, and customers can now pre-order it from any authorised Honda dealership, as well as from their homes through Honda's online sales platform, Honda from Home. The bookings for the upcoming SUV have formally commenced today onwards for a token amount of Rs 21,000. Notably, this year's holiday season will see the official launch of the Elevate in its maiden market, India. The Honda Elevate has been designed and developed with the Indian market in consideration, along with markets in South-East Asia and Latin America with comparable purchasing patterns.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Yuichi Murata, Director, of Marketing and Sales, at Honda Cars India Ltd said, “The Honda Elevate has received tremendous response since its World Premiere in June 2023. We are excited to announce the opening of pre-launch bookings today for this strongly anticipated model, which will go on sale in September’23. Through meticulous research and extensive customer feedback, we have designed this car to cater to the evolving needs and desires of our target audience. We are confident that the new model Elevate is poised for tremendous success in the market.”
Honda Elevate: Design Details & Available Colour Options
The upcoming Elevate's distinctive front design conveys a bold appearance with its slender and sharp headlamps. Together with the LED taillamps, two-tone finish diamond cut R17 alloy wheels, full LED projector headlights with LED DRLs and LED Turn indicators, and LED taillamps, the Elevate gives the vehicle a unique, contemporary, and sporty appearance.
A wide variety of single-tone and dual-tone colour choices for the Elevate will be available. This collection includes Obsidian Blue Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, and Meteoroid Grey Metallic. Apart from these, Phoenix Orange Pearl is a new colour scheme on offer.
Honda Elevate: Engine and Gearbox
The new Elevate will be built on the same platform as the fifth-generation Honda City. It will also be powered by the same 1.5-litre iVTEC petrol engine used in the City sedan, which has a maximum output of 120bhp and 145Nm. It has a CVT gearbox or a 6-speed manual gearbox for transmission. Honda won't be including the diesel engine with the vehicle. A 1.5-litre City petrol-hybrid engine could be made available later, though. Its measurements are 4,312mm in length, 1,790mm in width, and 1,650mm in height. In addition, it has a 458-litre boot that leads its class.
Honda Elevate: Interior and Safety Features
Speaking of the interior, the SUV boasts a roomy cabin, a 10.25-inch LCD touch-screen, a wireless phone charger, and a 7-inch full-colour TFT instrument cluster. Additionally, the plush brown leatherette upholstery with soft-touch pads on the dashboard and door trims gives the cutting-edge cabin a more luxurious feel. The Elevate also comes with Honda Connect, a connected car technology that enables customers to operate the vehicle remotely and be informed of significant notifications for increased convenience.
The Elevate will comprise an extensive selection of active and passive safety features, including the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) of Honda SENSING. This system is built on Honda's well-known "Safety for Everyone" philosophy, which prioritises improving vehicle and road user safety, according to the carmaker. To further ensure everyone's safety, the Elevate is also outfitted with features like vehicle stability assist with agile handling assist, hill start assist, emergency stop signal, multi-Angle rear-view camera, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX compatible rear side seats with lower anchorages & top tether.

Honda Elevate: Competition Check
The Hyundai Creta, the Kia Seltos, the Volkswagen Taigun, the Skoda Kushaq, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the MG Astor, and the forthcoming Citroen C3 Aircross will be competitors of the Elevate when it arrives in our home market. It is likely to be priced from Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.
