Honda Cars India has launched the City facelift with prices starting at Rs 11.49 lakh and going up to Rs 20.39 lakh for the top-spec City Hybrid. All prices are ex-showroom. Mechanically, the new City is available with two engine options - a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol hybrid unit with two electric motors. The 1.5-litre petrol unit produces 119bhp and 145Nm, whereas the 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol hybrid engine generates 124bhp and 253Nm. This time, offered engines are RDE and E20 compliant. The 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, formerly offered with the car, is no longer available. The 2023 City is mostly unchanged. However, several improvements have been made to the exterior to give it a slightly new appearance. It now sports a revised front bumper, featuring a splitter around the lower areas. The grille has a larger mesh and a sleeker chrome slat. Also, the model now features new fog lamp housings. Honda has not changed the headlamps of the car still the front fascia of the new City looks neat. At the rear, the 2023 City has smoked-out tail lamps and a lip spoiler that offers a sporty appearance.
The higher-end variants of the City facelift have 16-inch alloy wheels, whereas the mid-spec models continue to ride on 15-inch wheels. Honda has also introduced a brand-new paint colour - Obsidian Blue Pearl, for the City.

The interior of the car hasn't seen any changes. Except for wireless charging and ventilated seats, the interior is identical to the standard model. Inside, the new City comes standard with Honda Sensing, similar to the hybrid model. The cabin features a two-tone ivory and black interior colour theme in the City e:HEV and a two-tone Beige & Black interior in the City Petrol versions. Updated features inside the car include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, improved ambient lighting, and new upholstery.

In terms of variants, the 2023 Honda City facelift has replaced the City's current three variants, V, VX, and ZX, with a new entry-level variant named SV. A new V model is now available for the City hybrid, which previously only had a single fully equipped ZX option. For the 2023 Honda City facelift's petrol models, SV, V, VX, and ZX variants will be offered, while V and ZX variants will be available for the hybrid model of the City.
Features-wise, the City petrol has received ADAS, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and autonomous emergency braking on higher trims. Until recently, ADAS was only available on the City Hybrid. The City Hybrid's ADAS technology now has a new function from Honda called "Low-Speed Follow" that allows the driver to keep a safe distance from the car in front of them. The vehicle has a "Lead Vehicle Departure Notification System" as well, which warns the driver when the vehicle in front of them begins to move.

Both the City Petrol and the hybrid models come standard with a 3-year/unlimited Kilometre warranty from Honda. It can be extended for up to five years. Honda is also providing an 8-year/1,60,000-kilometer battery warranty for the City Hybrid version.
As for the market competition, the updated mid-size sedan will lock horns with the 2023 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, the Volkswagen Virtus, the Skoda Slavia, and the Hyundai Verna in India.
